Over the years London International Academy (LIA) has entered many students into National Mathematics and Physics contests. If a student does well and receives a mark which places them in the top 25% of the contestants, they will be awarded a “Certificate of Distinction”. If the student does even better they may win a gold medal and have their name entered on the “Honour Roll” at the Canadian Mathematical Society website: http://math.ca/Competitions/COMC/
We have received numerous awards and we have an exceptional high participation rate in:
- COMC: Canadian Open Mathematics Challenge
- Euclid: Euclid Math Contest
- SIN: Sir Isaac Newton Physics Contest
Recent Achievements:
- Three Gold Medals in 2010 COMC
- Two Gold Medals in 2009 COMC
- One Gold Medal in 2008 COMC
- Four Gold Medals in 2007 COMC
- Two Gold Medals in 2006 COMC

The results are used by the University of Waterloo to choose suitable students and to award scholarships. Other universities take the results into account when considering applicants for University Admissions. Every year our students gain distinctions and a few outstanding students get gold medals and “Honour Roll” mentions.
