During the course of your stay here at London International Academy (LIA) you will be required to complete fifteen hours of community service. This is mandatory for students to obtain an OSSD.
London International Academy also encourages students to volunteer as it is a truly rewarding experience and benefits our students in many ways, such as:
- Improve language skills, social skills, and organizational skills
- Gain a sense of responsibility
- Boost self esteem
- Promote good work ethic
Over the years LIA has formed strong relationships with many nonprofit organizations within the community, such as:
- Goodwill Ind.
- Memorial Boys and Girls Club
- Salvation Army
- Metropolitan United Church
- London Central Library
- Terry Fox Organization
We are always looking to expand our charitable network with new volunteer opportunities in the community.
Beginning in October we have the opportunity to prepare and serve dinner to the homeless at Metropolitan United Church and organize goods for Goodwill Industries. During the winter months we will be volunteering with the Salvation Army as they carry out their Christmas Festivities. We have many great opportunities to work as a team; and create lasting memories of our time together.
