The LIA Engineering Club and London Innovation have collaborated in organizing and hosting a “Coffee House.”
Thirty participants from five local high schools as well as Western University and Fanshawe College attended the coffee house and youth discussion evening at the King St. Atrium (186 King St.) on April 2.
The youth had a meet and greet session, performed at the ‘open mic’ and held discussions about the various community service initiatives they are organizing.
The LIA Engineering Club shared some information about its e-Waste initiative, a youth from Laurier shared her arts-based community service initiative entitled ‘Art for Humanity,’ a local musician invited the youth to participate in a video for a song that is to be filmed in various parts of the world, and a local Slam Poet performed an inspiring piece for the audience.
There will be another coffee house event on Friday, May 8 at 6:30 at the King St. Atrium. Youth from around the city of London are welcome to attend.
